The green, green grass of hope. March 27, 2009

I’ve talked before about the natural resources that London already have to offer being utilised when the Games come to London, and research on the official website has brought to light the fact that two on London’s great parks are to host events.

Both Hyde Park and Regents Park are to have seating areas erected to allow people to cheer road-cyclists, Tri-athletes and open water swimmers across their finishing lines.

Of course assuming that this will in no way damage the flora and fauna of the parks, I think using the parks like this really adds to the ‘green games’ image that is all important. If London is to be a leading light when the world’s press descend upon us I cant think of a better picture than a sunny day in Regents Park to convince viewers that we need green, open spaces.

I challenge anyone to deny the beauty of Regents Park’s weeping willow trees or the majesty of Hyde Park’s mighty oaks and I relish the chance of sharing such sights with the millions of viewers tuned into the BBC coverage.

Hyde Park, London in all it's glory.

Hyde Park, London in all it's glory.
